Welcome to Nanjing !

Nanjing, the historic capital of Jiangsu Province in eastern China, is a captivating blend of imperial legacy and cutting-edge development. With an uninterrupted urban history spanning more than 2,500 years, this former capital of ten Chinese dynasties has earned its prestigious titles as both the “Ancient Capital of Six Dynasties” and the “Cradle of Modern China.”
Nanjing is home to UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum and the Imperial Tombs of the Southern Tang Dynasty, as well as iconic landmarks like the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, Confucius Temple (Fuzimiao), and the Presidential Palace. The city’s rich past is preserved in its ancient city walls, museums, and tree-lined boulevards, creating a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity.
Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum

Located at the southern foot of Zhongmao Peak in the Zhongshan Mountain, the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum is the tomb of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the great forerunner of the democratic revolution. Construction of the mausoleum began in January 1926, with the main structure completed in the spring of 1929. The entombment ceremony was held on June 1 of the same year. Work continued afterward until the entire project was finished by the end of 1931.
Covering an area of 2,000 acres, the mausoleum is built along the mountain’s contours, facing open land in the front and backed by lush peaks, presenting a majestic and grand layout shaped like a “Liberty Bell.” The symmetrical architectural complex extends from the memorial archway, tomb passage, mausoleum gate, and stele pavilion to the sacrificial hall and burial chamber, spanning a horizontal distance of 700 meters with a height difference of 70 meters. It includes 392 stone steps and 10 platforms, all constructed with white granite and reinforced concrete and topped with blue glazed tiles.
The Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum is listed among the first batch of national key cultural heritage sites and was included in the “First Selection of 20th-Century Chinese Architectural Heritage.” Nearby, there are several commemorative structures, such as the Music Stage, Xingjian Pavilion, Guanghua Pavilion, Liuhui Xie (Lakeview Pavilion), and the Scripture Storage Hall.
