Biography:

Helong Yu, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Postdoctoral Fellow of Tsinghua University, Visiting Scholar of Massey University, New Zealand and York University, Canada.  He is a member of the China Democratic League (CDL), a member of the Changchun Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and a member of the Jilin CDL. He is the dean of the school of information ttechnology of Jilin Agricultural University and the eexecutive vice president of the Institute of Smart Agriculture of Jilin Agricultural University. He is a distinguished expert and a top innovative talent of Jilin Province, and awarded the national second prize in the national teaching innovation competition for college teachers. Additionally, he is the director of the virtual teaching and research office of the ministry of education’s new agricultural talent cultivation reform study, leader of the national first-class professional construction point (computer science and technology), and head of the national first-class course (computer network). Now he is also the secretary general of Digital Agriculture Branch of China Computer Federation (CCF), chairman of Jilin smart agriculture society, standing member of Smart Agriculture Specialized Committee of China Artificial Intelligence Society and council member of Smart Agriculture Specialized Committee of China Crop Society. Professor Yu mainly engaged in research and teaching in computational agriculture and optical agriculture. He has undertaken more than 20 national and provincial key scientific research projects: the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Key Research and Development Program, and the major consulting research projects of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and etc. Published over 130 SCI, EI papers; applied or authorized 12 invention patents; obtained more than 20 software copyright registrations, and published 5 books. Awarded 2 first prizes and 5 second prizes for scientific and technological progress in Jilin Province.
